Packing Pro App Reviews

I just cant think of a reason not to get this. It makes everything about planning, packing, traveling and returning painless and worry free. I like the way the creator offers updates and so far they have all been free. Lots of new features in the past 2 years. I use it on my iPhone and I can now bring my lists into my computer as a csv file and use the keyboard to make multiple edits easier than scrolling through my iphone screen. Each item of luggage can be represented by a customized icon and words. Each item you need to bring can be searched for, added, tweaked and can be entered individually (like one medication) or by adding a customized list (like all medications). And it offers notifications such as being able to set up a reminder to order needed medications 2 weeks before leaving. Or buy something. I especially enjoy the feature of timed checklists. I set up three checklists. One covers things to do 1 week before I leave (confirm and gather documents). Another is for 24 hrs before leaving (reminds me to plug in all devices to fully charge, etc) and the last checklist is for 3 hours before leaving (reminds me to fill pet bowls, adjust thermostat, etc). I am single but families will appreciate the ability to add a list of names and then assign different luggage items to each name packed with items for that person. In my case I can pack pet luggage with items for each pet when they travel with me! This is one powerful app!! My 2014 review: Main problem was the learning curve. I did not "grow with the app" from early stages. I got it in summer of 2014 and it is very detailed- a ton of options for personal tweaking. The app has good help and support but still took me a few months and about 3 trips to understand the nuances because of it has so many features. Once I got my templates figured out and tailored the rest was a breeze. Now it takes me just a few minutes to create my travel details for each trip. Whether overnight business, romantic get-away, two week family visit or prolonged monthly rental, its so nice to never worry about forgetting to prepare the house for pet sitters or forgetting to bring something. This app is a real winner for me!!

I enjoy using this app very much. Love that I can make it my own, choosing different themes, colors and fonts. Very useful, i have saved different packing lists for short weekend trip, to longer trip with flight and longer driving vacation. From beach to lake to camping.

By far the best packing / organizing app on the App Store, and Ive tried most of them, including Wunderlist. Here is why I LOVE THIS APP!! 1. Each list can have multiple sublists. The sublists can OPEN or be COLLAPSED as needed. This is VERY IMPORTANT for detailed packing and organizing. If you were unable to collapse all your sublists, you would be doing a lot of unnecessary scrolling. 2. You can easilY DUPLICATE a list! Believe it or not, many apps dont have this feature, or it is so hard to find it renders it too cumbersome. 3. It is hard to accidentally delete or list, or accidentally "check all" on a list. Very safe! 4. When you complete an item, a small check appears next to it, and the text becomes italicized and turns gray. ****THIS IS EXTREMELY AWESOME**** because in other apps the following painful things occur, leaving you DISORGANIZED: A. The item DISAPPEARS B. The item is MARKED THROUGH AND YOU CANT READ IT C. The item is reorganized to the bottom Leaving the text readable and in its place allows for a quick reference of what has been completed! This is probably what makes the app most useful for me! (Dear developer, please DONT change this) In addition, this app has value WAY BEYOND just packing. I have used this app to create some checklists for use at work which allow me to stay organized throughout the day. Thing I would IMPROVE: 1. Each checklist item has a box where the user can input notes...however this box is relatively small. I would increase its size, especially on the iPad version.

I just spent several minutes fighting with items, types, categories, orphaned items...a packing list is, at the end of the day, just a reusable checklist. It shouldnt need to be figured out.

I had a different list maker on my iPhone 5 and used it all the time. That app was no longer available, so reviewed a number of list making apps. Saw good reviews on this app and gave it a try. Very short learning curve and a little frustrating at first. But made seven lists today and now understand the logic and the ease of create new lists from scratch. Excellent list maker and highly recommended.

I love this App. Previously I had trouble trying to split items such as pants between a suitcase and a carry on (using a suitcase icon and a carry on icon) and gave this App 3 stars. Now that Quinn from Packing Pro explained easy steps how to do it, I have to give this App 5 stars. I highly recommend this App. Thanks Quinn

I travel so often and this app is essential. Always improved with new options. I have 20 versions for seasons, length of trip, destination, reason for trip. I never worry about packing. Just use the list, update new items and them pack. No worries.

This is one of my favorite apps for a couple reasons. One, if Im using it, then it means Im going on a trip and that makes me happy, and two, it is 100% the best packing friend there is. They have thought of everything. Even to the point that Im not sure Im using all the amenities because there is so much to choose from. I love it so very much, I never start packing until Ive got everything down and here.

They only reason I use this app is the I started using it years ago when it was simple yet capable. The app is now bloated with useless features and terminology that gets in the way of using it. My head started spinning when I tried to create a new list recently. Categories, types, items, catalog...guys - this is overkill!

I have not found anything wrong with this program to this point. I pride myself in being able to find the downside to programs but this one excels in every way. I strongly encourage you to take a advantage of it.

Developer did not address sync and backup adequately. Leaves it up to user to manually manage sync and backup features using OS features and "3rd party" apps.

I use this awesome app for my photography gigs. I entered every piece of camera equipment I own, and it makes it a breeze to pick out the stuff I need for each photo shoot. The guy who wrote this thought of everything! Nice work, Dev.

I tend to be a todo list kind of person, but I think everyone would find this very useful. I really like the feature of copying a list from a previous list. By doing this, I keep refining and improving my packing. I NEVER forget to pack things on trips now! Developer is also very responsive, which is a big plus. One of my must have apps!

My packing lists have specific items: red turtleneck sweater, white cotton turtleneck lined jeans, black jeans, etc. It’s possible to fiddle in Excel on the computer with the lists, which I may try if I have time.

This app is not intuitive if you want to customize your packing lists for different trips. Ive tried to use it to prepare for camping trips, skiing, etc. It has many bells and whistles but they are not straightforward to use. The settings are very disjointed. Im going to move on to something else. If you and your familys needs happen to fit perfectly with this apps preset template then maybe this is for you.

I like the app in general, but the iCloud sync does not work on the iPhone. As soon as I turn it on, the app starts blinking the "wait" icon about once a second. Forever. I havent had the problem on my iPad, so it appears it is iPhone-specific. I am on IOS 8.4.1 on both devices.

I travel a lot. At least once a month. This app helps me organize short trips, long trips, cruises... etc. I have had no problem with the sync function between iPhone and iPad. I live by lists and this app has saved my sanity.

Thanks for your hard work! Cant wait for the next update!

Great app. Im always leaving something behind. Packing Pro helps me make sure everything I need gets in my suitcase!!
